A personal welcome to you from Bernard
Thank you for visiting Mara. If we have not already met please allow me to introduce myself.
I have been exhibiting these beautiful art forms, including at RHS shows around the UK since 2015 and in recent years have been proud to represent our sculptors at The Zimbabwean Embassy in Trafalgar Square, London.
My passion for Zimbabwean stone sculpture is life long, having spent my childhood years surrounded by family members and their friends who were involved in the craft of creating Zimbabwe’s premier art form. The great privilege of watching my uncle Biggie Kapeta at work was and still is an important inspiration. Kapeta was one of Zimbabwe's finest sculptors - you can find out more here.
I set up Mara to increase exposure of this uniquely beautiful art form.
We encourage you to visit us at our shows to see the exceptional quality and ingenuity of our sculptors’ work. The opportunity to see in the round and to touch these works of art before buying is in our view essential.

The sculptures can be displayed in the home or outside in the garden where larger piecees make wonderful focal points. Please browse the website to find out more about this extraordinary art movement.
